Summer Means Rooftop Cocktails: Here Are Our Top 8 Bars In The Sky

Vodka tonic and a healthy fear of heights, anyone?

There’s little in life that gives more pleasure than sipping a French 75 on a rooftop that has a view of the Eiffel Tower. Well, maybe pairing that cocktail with some French eye candy sitting at the next table over. And while stairs might have to be involved in this particular endeavor, just imagine how toned your booty will be after hitting the Parisian streets AND every rooftop on this list.

Plus, even if you went to every rooftop bar in the city, it still wouldn’t compare to climbing the steps of the Eiffel Tower. And as someone who has done that, this is a piece of cake that ends with a carafe of cocktails and a (personal) pizza.

Pro Tip: Hot Girl Summer starts with a drink in each hand and seventh story bird’s eye views of Paris, and ends when someone tumbles down the stairs (RIP to your heels).

So if you’re ready to start your hot girl (or boy, we’re inclusive here) summer with a bar in the sky, here is a list to start you off right:

Le Perchoir Marais (Opens June 29th!)

Located in the 4th arrondissement, Le Perchoir Marais is situated on the roof of the Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville and offers panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower, River Seine, and the city below. Taste one of their signature spicy cocktails or splurge for a bottle of champagne and pair it with a charcuterie board or small plate while lounging on one of the white cushioned benches. It’s a place to bring friends and family, or go alone to meet locals and tourists alike. Check out their Instagram to get a better feel of their immaculate rooftop vibes.

Mama Shelter East & West

If you’re looking for a fun retreat, look no farther than a Mama Shelter Rooftop Bar: They’re bright and colorful set-ups with cushy spots to sip glasses of wine and entertain company. Open day and night, you can enjoy a peaceful cup of espresso in the morning then later come back for an evening round of ping pong. The bar menu has dishes to share and pizzas galore, not to mention pitchers of cocktails big enough to satiate your party of friends (or perhaps just you?). Plus, Mama Shelter West boasts eighth floor views of the Eiffel Tower.

The Shed

Perched on top of the Hotel des Grands Boulevards in the second arrondissement, The Shed is a small hidden rooftop oasis perfect to escape the hustle-bustle of the city below. It’s rustic-chic, decorated with pink and red sofas and tables surrounded by greenery that’ll make you feel as if you’re relaxing in a garden (so if you have allergies, beware!). They have a small but delicious list of cocktails along with an exclusive champagne and wine selection, but if you’re feeling a bit more hungry you can always head to the hotel’s top-quality restaurant that also offers outdoor seating.

The sun filled terrace is located in the 16th arrondissement on the 7th floor of the five star Hotel Raphaël and is open from April to September. Dine for lunch or dinner in their little hanging garden that always smells like fresh flowers or just unwind with a drink from their impressive list of cocktails and champagne. Located on the rooftop of the Cité de la Mode et du Design in the 13th arrondissement, Café Oz is a hip Aussie bar right along the river. With bright colors and aboriginal fresco, it’s a vibrant space. Pair that with an outdoor DJ and you’re guaranteed to want to dance. This sports bar is trendy with Australian beers, house cocktails, and classic shooters (Jägerbombs anyone?). Here you can watch a sports match and satiate your hunger with a burger (on the barbie perhaps?) or sharable items like charcuterie boards and pizza.

It’s located in the 13th arrondissement, and they’re always hosting hot DJs, bands, and themed events to keep you entertained all summer long. Start early (3pm is early if you were up ’til sunrise the night before, ok?) to eat and drink during the day, and then dance the night away.

La Perruche

This bar and restaurant will fulfill your wildest dreams if your aesthetic is luxurious green oasis where it kinda feels like you are in Greece, but then you can also see the Eiffel Tower. La Perruche is a rooftop garden on top of Printemps Haussmann and like a parakeet, it is colorful and beautiful. Located in the 8th arrondissement, the restaurant inside has immaculate views with large bay windows, but the true breathtaking views come from the roof (obvi).
